There are different core concepts used in web development, technologies involved in creating websites and web applications include:

  1. HTML (Hypertext Markup Language): HTML, the foundation of web pages. It is used to create the heading, paragraphs, links, and so on.
  2. CSS (Cascading Style Sheets): CSS functions in the aspect of styling HTML elements, it helps with the colors, fonts, in general CSS helps in designing the website visually.
  3. JavaScript: A programming language that adds functionality to the website, It helps in adding validation for the form, updates etc.

Differences Between Frontend and Backend

Frontend and Backend are two distinct aspect in web development, each saddled with different set of responsibilities, key differences between them are :

Frontend Development:

  1. It’s responsible for the visual and interactive aspects of a website or application.
  2. Frontend development involves HTML for structuring content, CSS for styling, and JavaScript for adding interactivity and dynamic behavior to web pages.
  3. Frontend is responsible for creating forms, buttons, menus, and other elements that users can interact with.

Backend Development:

  1. Backend development involves creating the server-side. Dealing with data storage, retrieval, and processing.
  2. Backend development makes use of languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, PHP, or Node.js, along with frameworks and libraries, to handle data, databases, APIs, and business logic.
  3. Backend development is saddled with the responsibility of security measures to protect sensitive data, prevent unauthorized access, and ensure the integrity of user interactions.
  4. Backend development is used for creating APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) that allow frontend and other applications to communicate with the backend services.

However, these two aspects collaborate to deliver smooth, interactive, and efficient websites that cater to both user needs and underlying system requirements.

Conclusion

Learning web development as a beginner involves steps. You start with front-end and then progress to back-end. In the long run, you can decide to become a full stack developer, which means you are knowledgeable and can work in both front-end and back-end development.
